Meet the Maker Behind Brighton Rock Workshop
Hi, I’m Lois…
I’m the maker behind the online retail store Brighton Rock Workshop, and Bath & Body Parties, the creative party service for children and teens in Brighton and across Sussex. I am one of the people who’ll be turning your child’s party into a swirl of colour, creativity and (controlled!) chaos. I started the retail side of the business in 2021, offering handmade, vegan and cruelty-free bath, body and home fragrance products. Brighton Rock Workshop is supported by The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince’s Trust). This has included small-business funding and two years of mentoring, which have helped me grow the business into a sustainable creative brand.
I started the business when living in Spain and decided to move back to the UK in 2023. Since then, my products have been stocked in well-known Sussex attractions such as the Royal Pavilion gift shop, Brighton i360 gift shop, and Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens, as well as small independent stores around Sussex and beyond. You may have also come across me at local markets and craft fairs. But we mostly operate online via www.brightonrockworkshop.com.
My background (when I’m not whipping up nourishing body butters or candles) is in child development coaching, and I’ve spent years helping children and teens build confidence, feel safe in group settings, and try new things with a smile.
Bath & Body Parties bring all of that together - tween skincare trends, creative play, sensory fun, and a big boost of self-esteem, all wrapped up in sparkles and soft pastels. Over the past five years, I’ve taught numerous workshops across Sussex and seen firsthand how much kids love creating something that’s theirs.
So when you book a party, you’re getting more than just soap. You're getting an experience that’s thoughtfully designed, child-focused, and genuinely joyful (with zero stress for you). Plus, everything we use is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We run kids’ and teens’ parties in all areas of Sussex, including Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Burgess Hill, Crawley & Eastbourne.

While we’re best known for our children’s bath & body parties, Brighton Rock Workshop also hosts a wide range of creative workshops throughout the year for adults, children, and families. From candle making, wax melts, whipped soap, bath bombs and melt & pour soap to body scrubs, body butters and seasonal specials, we bring hands-on, sensory experiences to everybody.
These sessions run at least twice per month across Sussex, and anybody can get tickets to join in the fun! Whilst we work from different venues, you’ll very often find us running our events from the upstairs area of Puzzle Bored, a wonderfully inclusive board games cafe in central Brighton.
