Bath & Body Parties FAQ’s
Making A Booking
-
Each party is a fully guided, workshop-style experience designed to be creative, fun, and confidence-boosting. All guests will take part in the main workshop, enjoy a bonus activity, and take home everything they’ve made, along with a certificate of completion to celebrate their achievement.
We also include child-friendly mocktails made with lemonade, juices, and syrups, usually finished with a simple fruit garnish. Personalised digital invitations are provided, and the guest of honour will receive a special treat to make their day extra memorable.
Food and snacks are not included, allowing you complete flexibility to cater in a way that suits your child and guests.
Optional party boxes are available as an add-on.
-
Yes! Our parties can be hosted at your home, as long as there’s a suitable space for the workshop to run safely and comfortably. Home-based parties are a popular option for our Brighton and Sussex children’s parties, and we’ll bring everything needed to set up and run the workshop. All we ask is access to a table or work surface and enough room for guests to take part.
-
We’re based near Brighton and travel across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex for children’s parties and workshops. Areas include Worthing, Lewes, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Eastbourne, Henfield, and Chichester. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, feel free to contact us.
-
We don’t currently have our own dedicated party premises. However, we regularly work with an excellent child-friendly venue in Brighton called Puzzle Bored, which can be used for parties for an additional venue hire fee of £40. If you’d prefer to host your party there, just let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange this for you.
-
We recommend booking as early as possible, as we often take bookings up to 10 months in advance. That said, we do sometimes have availability for last-minute party bookings, so it’s always worth getting in touch to check.
-
Most parties take place at weekends, with sessions typically starting either in the morning (around 10am) or in the afternoon (around 2pm). We can often be flexible with timings depending on the location of other bookings that day.
We also offer weekday parties, either after school or during school holidays, with 10% off weekday bookings. Availability varies, but we will always confirm when you’re making your booking.
-
Party bags are available as an optional add-on and come as highly branded box-style party bags. We offer three tiers to suit different budgets, ranging from a simple option through to a VIP pamper box. Full details are available on each party’s page.
-
Yes, we do sometimes have availability for last-minute children’s party bookings in Brighton and the surrounding Sussex areas. While we recommend booking as early as possible, it’s always worth getting in touch to check if we can accommodate your date.
-
To book a party, simply fill in the short enquiry form on the party page you’re interested in. You’ll also see ‘Book’ buttons at the top of the page and throughout the website.
You don’t need to know exactly which party option you’d like or the exact number of guests at this stage. All party types are priced the same, and your chosen party can be changed up to a week before the event.
Once we receive your form, we’ll get in touch by phone or email to confirm your requirements and check availability. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due up to one week before the party.
-
Deposits are non-refundable. Once paid, the remaining party fee is also non-refundable unless we receive at least 30 days’ notice. If you need to cancel or change your date, please get in touch as soon as possible. While refunds may not be possible, we will always do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests where we can.
-
If you love spa or pamper parties, you’ll love this too. It has the same feel-good, treat-yourself vibe, just with more creativity and interaction. Instead of sitting back and relaxing, guests get stuck into making something beautiful (and usable!) to take home.
-
Our parties are inspired by the idea of creative, workshop-style experiences such as pottery painting and others. The whipped soap party idea grew 100% organically, and we have not seen it done anywhere else. Since then, we have had many requests for bath bomb parties, which is why we decided to expand our offering.
Whilst there is one similar style high-street business offering bath bomb parties, we’ve designed ours to be far more personal, flexible, and child-focused.
Rather than being tied to a fixed retail setting, our whipped soap parties can run at a time and location that suits you, whether that’s at home, in a hired venue, or at one of our recommended spaces.
This means a more relaxed experience, better group flow, and a party that feels tailored to your child and their guests, rather than a one-size-fits-all session.
Party Details & Timing
-
The hands-on workshop element lasts approximately two hours, but can be more or less depending on the group. We allow for up to a 30-minute break midway through the session, giving you time to serve food, cake, or snacks, or simply to let the children have a short rest. In many cases, groups choose a shorter break of around 10–15 minutes and then continue, which can bring the overall finish time forward.
We typically pause for a break after about 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a second section of approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
-
We can work in a variety of home setups. Ideally, we need either a dining table (chairs are helpful but not essential) or an open area with enough space for guests to move comfortably without feeling cramped or creating a trip hazard. If you have chairs for everyone, that’s great, but the session can also be run standing around a table or even seated on the floor (with something soft to sit on).
All of our ingredients are non-staining and designed to be safe for home use. We bring a protective table covering, however if you have a table with a delicate or natural wood finish, we recommend placing a waterproof table cover underneath as an extra precaution in case of any oil spills. In general, the working area should be easy to wipe clean.
We will also need access to water for regular hand washing. If there are no taps nearby, a large bucket of warm water also does the job.
-
The time you book is the time the party begins and when all guests are expected to be present. If you are hosting the party at home, we require approximately 35 minutes before the start time to set up and around 15 minutes afterwards to pack down. To keep things easy for you, we take all washing up and equipment away with us, making the process quick, simple, and low mess.
If you are travelling to our regular venue in Brighton, you can arrive any time from 30 minutes before the session starts if you’d like to decorate.
-
Adult participation isn’t usually required for the activities themselves. We fully lead the session from start to finish. However, we do ask that at least one responsible adult remains on site for the duration of the party for safeguarding reasons. For younger guests, larger groups or in cases where additional support is needed, we may ask for light involvement. Some parents enjoy getting involved in the process, while others prefer to use the time to relax in another room, it is completely up to you!
-
We are quite flexible about when you choose to serve food, snacks, or cake. A popular time is during our mid-session break, which usually takes place around 1 hour and 15 minutes after the workshop begins. This is also when we will clear the table and remove any unnecessary equipment in preparation for the second part of the session.
Alternatively, you are welcome to serve food at the end of the workshop, before we arrive, or after we leave, whatever best suits your plans.
-
We know things don’t always run perfectly to plan. If you’re delayed, please let us know as soon as you can. Whether we’re able to adjust timings depends on the day, including other bookings and venue schedules. Where possible, we can make small adjustments to shorten the session so it can still go ahead, however we may not always be able to extend the original end time.
Safeguarding & Dietary
-
Bath & Body Parties is designed for children and teens aged 7–16 years. However, each party page will give you an idea of the ideal age range for that specific type of party, as some of the parties we offer are not suitable for younger guests.
For guests under 9, we may ask for some parent or carer participation if we feel a little extra support would be beneficial. We do not generally recommend our sessions for children under 7 years old, unless parents are willing to participate fully.
While the parties are tailored to children and teens, there is no upper age limit for the activities we offer, and we also run dedicated adult sessions. The most important factor is that guests are able to follow instructions and participate safely.
Please note that we have carefully considered the age range for each type of party, and if we arrive on the day and there are younger children/siblings than the recommended age, we will ask that a parent supervises them for the session. This ensures that the session runs smoothly and that the guest of honour and the whole group get the best experience and support.
-
Yes. We’re fully insured and DBS checked, and have many years’ experience running children’s parties and creative workshops safely. We also hold a number of relevant qualifications, including Paediatric First Aid and Advanced Safeguarding, among others.
-
Our parties are carefully structured and fully guided, which helps keep children engaged and focused throughout. We set clear expectations at the start, encourage teamwork and creativity, and adapt our approach to suit different ages, personalities, and energy levels to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
-
We always ask about allergies and sensitivities at the time of booking and will ensure that workshop ingredients and party bag contents are suitable based on the information provided. It’s the responsibility of the parent in charge to check with other parents or carers and let us know in good time so we can prepare accordingly.
-
Photos or short videos are only taken with permission from the parent in charge, and only of the children they’ve authorised. Occasionally, we may ask whether children would like to be involved in marketing content for our website or advertising, but this is always optional and would only take place with permission.
-
Yes. All of our products are vegan and cruelty-free, which is central to the ethos of both Brighton Rock Workshop and Whipped Soap Parties.
